WOUND GEL
& SCAR CREAM

Formulage Wound and Scar Treatments are carefully developed for all four distinct stages of wound healing.

SCARRED.
NOT FOR LIFE!

Each healing phase is necessary for the regeneration of cellular structure and the well-being of an individual. The Formulage products support each of the four phases of wound healing to allow the skin to heal and mature, effectively ensuring a less visible scar.

ADVANCED WOUND + SCAR TRAINING

By skincare specialist Mandy Gonsalves

In the below video, Mandy Gonsalves takes us through the wound-healing journey and explains how Formulage’s Wound Gel and Scar Cream assist in the healing process of each phase.

First, she demonstrates how to apply Formulage’s Wound Gel during phases 1 and 2 and how to take care of wounds effectively. Then, during phases 3 and 4, she illustrates how Scar Cream aids in rebuilding and then maturing the skin – ultimately retaining the skin’s natural hydration, reducing free radicals, and modulating the immune system. The result is a flat, less visible scar.

HOW THE FORMULAGE PRODUCTS SUPPORT THE FOUR STAGES OF WOUND HEALING

PHASE 1: HAEMOSTASIS STAGE

Epithelial cells at the wound border migrate to clot and seal the wound, and coagulation occurs.

Formulage Wound Gel aids in forming a protective layer on the wound to retain hydration and support healing.

Apply Wound Gel Daily.

PHASE 2: INFLAMMATORY STAGE

The white platelets play a crucial role in clot formation. The wound must remain moist, and the control of inflammation must not exceed beyond the trauma site.

Formulage Wound Gel supports inflammation control as the wound contracts and form a scab.

Continue to apply Wound Gel Daily.

PHASE 3: PROLIFERATIVE STAGE

The wound is ‘rebuilt’ with new granulation tissue, consisting of collagen and extracellular matrix in which a unique network of blood vessels forms.

Formulage Scar Cream provides the essential building blocks of collagen & elastin synthesis.

Apply Scar Cream Daily on a closed wound only.

PHASE 4: MATURATION STAGE

This stage is also known as “remodeling”. Collagen forms tight cross-links to other collagen and proteins, increasing the tensile strength of the scar.

Formulage Scar Cream retain the skin’s natural hydration, reduce free radicals, and modulate the immune system.

Continue daily application until the scar has healed.
